This was the first time I had ever shown any of my work to a public audience. It was exciting, and a little scary. When you first set out on a new creative journey, you are never quite sure what others will think about your work. The group art show took place inside the Russell Industrial Center, one of my favorite venues from my home town of Detroit (it used to be a auto car factory, now it houses artist studios, alternative events, festivals and other things that I can't talk about, ha). As you can see from the photo, I was still finding my style as an artist, and those photos represent the beginning stages of my event photography endeavors, as well as my interested in experimental techniques like smoke and water. I'll never forget my first show!
